Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all the men & women who serve our country..
Yay, more nail inspiration!! :) I've been loving all the peacock inspired colors that have been on anything from home decor to jewlery (you can see my peacock necklace here!) so I decided to try it out on my nails! This one was a little more difficult and probably would've worked a little better if I had fancy nail design brushes and longer nails ;) but for the first time I was pretty happy with it..

To achieve the "feathers" I used the small brush at the end of my dotting tool. I looked at this tutorial by Amber for help.

The colors I used:

Pure Ice: Jaguar, NYC: Skin Tight Denim, NYC: Big Money Frost, Petites: Figi,

Sally Hansen: Purple Potion

Wow..what a week!! Yesterday was the last day of school for my boys. It was definitely a bittersweet one. It was my oldest son's last day of elementary school, and my youngest's last day of pre-school :(  sniff..sniff..
It was a whirlwind of a week, with end of school year parties, award assemblies, teacher gifts, etc. Today is going to be a lazy one spent in pj's!! :)

Last Sunday we had Jordan's party at Laser Quest, he decided on a layer cake. This is what was left! It was yummy!!

Jordan got Super Kid and Perfect Attendance! SO proud of him! :)

Jordan wanted chili dogs for his b-day dinner. Hayden wanted to make the list for the grocery store, not sure why but this just made my heart so happy!

Bright flower nails. These weren't one of my favs..wasn't too sad when they started chipping. ha ha!

This is what my counter looked like after school on Weds. That day was INSANE! Plus it was so windy, I swear it makes everyone cuckoo! It makes me feel claustrophobic when my counter is like this, so it had to be clean before I went to bed!

After! This is what I woke up to. Just one small stack of papers..I can handle that. ha ha

I'm so excited to announce that I got nominated for the Versatile Blogger award! Thanks to the sweet girls over at Two.Shades.of.Lovely! I also have to thank Heather & Heather, because if it wasn't for them  hosting mani monday the girls from two shades prob wouldn't have stopped by my blog! :)

So the rules for the award are to share 7 things about yourself, so here goes!

1. I drink coffee EVERYDAY, and I prefer flavored creamer :)  I've even been known to take it in a container on vacation, or camping ;)
2. My husband is absolutely my BFF, he makes me laugh EVERYDAY even when I'm mad at him (which is barely ever!)
3. I'm probably one of the worst procrastinators EV.ER! And sadly it seems to be getting worse the older I get :(
4. I've never totally stuck with one hobby. I'll do something for awhile and get bored with it and move onto something else. For about the last year I've gotten obsessed with nail polish and doing my nails :)
5. I  now get happy when my nail polish chips so that I can do them again! I used to get so mad when my polish wouldn't last!
6. I really don't like the summer..except for not having a schedule while my boys are out of school!
7. Not a day passes that I don't eat some sort of candy, insert the reason I must run! Life is too short to deprive yourself!

The rules  say to nominate 15 bloggers, but Two.Shades. did 10. So I think that I'll go with 7 since I did 7 things about me, good enough? I realize some of them most people already read, but just in case ;)

Mani Monday

Yay my new favorite day of the week!! I've been having SO much fun seeing all the other awesomeness all the other girls have been linking up. As a result I even got nominated for my first blogger award! Eek! I'm planning on posting it tomorrow. Thanks again to the girls over at Two.Shades.of.Lovely.
This week I'm linking up my ikat nails :) I think that this is one of the most deceiving designs to do. I was really intimidated to do it, but loved it so much that I tried it and it was SO easy! You really can't mess them up!
I watched this video from mr candipants. Go watch and let me know if you try it out! :)

 Aren't they so bright & fun?! I meant to take a picture of the colors I used but forgot! The colors I used are China glaze-Aquadelic, Sinful colors- 24/7, Pure Ice-White, and for the black I used a nail design polish in black.

Happy Friday friends!! Looking forward to this weekend..kind of..my Jordan turns 9 on Saturday! ;( I'm really not liking this jerky time thing. Not cool how fast it goes!

I was a very spoiled mommy on Sunday! I received handmade gifts from each of the boys that they made at school & church. Jordan's was really great this year from school. It was a little container with coupons in it that he wrote on, one of them said " Be nice to Hayden for 3dys." Umm 3hrs would be good..haha. He also wrote me a letter that told me the reasons he loved me. One of them is that I put up with him when he's pretty annoying. I cracked up! SO cute! and kinda true..

My sweet hubbie spoiled me with red TOMS and M.A.C perfume 

Saturday haircuts, my littlest cutie!

Seeds starting for my garden. Notice the left side has NO leaves..a certain tortoise pushed the lid out of the way and WENT TO TOWN on my cucumbers! ugh..not sure if those are going to make it.

Totally giving us the stink eye..haha. Hayden had just sprayed her with green hair spray! She's not a fan..

The hose is endless fun around here :)

Ikat nails! These were so fun! I was a little intimidated to try them, but they were easy and loved how bright they turned out!

Mani Monday

Yay another mani monday!! Today I'm going to share my water marble nails :) these are a little bit of work but the outcome is so cool! The combos/possibilities are endless. Again sorry its a blurry phone pic!
The video I watched on You Tube is Simple Little Pleasures. Mine didn't turn out as awesome as hers, but I still LOVED it! I just filled in some of the bigger patches of solid color with white polka dots :)

Happy Friday friends!! This week FLEW by, don't they all seem to lately?? My kids only have 10 days of school left..ugh..I had all these plans to have a plan with ideas to do over summer to minimize the "I'm bored!" Have I done it? Mmmm, nope..Hi I'm Denissa and I'm a procrastinator. Anyway just have a few pics form the week.. And I know a lot of people have made comments about the new blogger how irritating it is, I hadn't experienced it until doing this post! Who knows how this will turn out! ugh...

This soap smells AMAZING! Its the new spring/summer line from Bath & Body Works. Ignore my nasty sink & tile..gross..

Coconut is back at Starbucks! Dangerous..I could litereally drink one every morning & afternoon ;)

I might have a problem ;) lol..I got these last week, on separate trips..if that helps? In my defense there were two colors I've been looking for a longtime so when I saw them, HAD to get them! And now that Heather is hosting Mani Monday I need to add to my collection :) my mani that I linked up was featured! SO excited!

Mani Monday

I can't think of a better way to start off Mondays now! I'm linking up again for Mani Monday :) Sorry for the blurry cell phone pic, but this was before Mani Mondays when I would just capture what I did on my nails on my phone ;)
If I'm having a hard time deciding what to do, I'll just do a little of both. I'm a little obsessed with leopard print at the moment so this is what I did and some SUPER easy flowers on my pointer and ring finger.

Whew...what a week is all that I can say! We had stuff almost every evening, and my oldest had his report due ( which he's only known was due for about 6wks!) .. It was crazy busy and I'm so glad that it's the weekend, although it's busy too it won't be too busy ;)

Batman flew by to help me make dinner :) I've always saved the boy's Halloween costumes and it always cracks me up when they'll randomly put them on and play. Of course its mainly just Hayden now because they don't really fit the older boys :( but makes me smile every time!

LOVE tulips! Totally forgot that I had this jar/vase!

Out to dinner last week for my hub's b-day. Jordan was SO happy to take his picture! Really?! At least Hayden was happy to take it! haha..

T-ball pictures last Saturday, can't wait to see them! From where I was he looked so cute!

Peacock necklace from Pier 1, who knew they had such CUTE jewelry?! They also had earrings, but I didn't want to be too matchy-matchy..plus the necklace was about $15-16, but I couldn't resist!

Every first week of May (the date changes yearly) is Peace Officer Memorial Day. Being the wife of an officer I get the honor of seeing things that not everyone else might. These ceremonies are hard to see but they're a reminder that these officers have sadly paid the ultimate sacrifice for all us to be safe.  

On a lighter note, the BEST part about the ceremony..THE HORSES!! :) Hayden took this picture and wants it on his wall..haha

The annual May Day celebration at Devin's school. He was chosen to participate in the pole wrapping ceremony, it's a huge honor & responsibility! We're so proud of him!
