Girly monogram frame

My niece recently had her bedroom re-done for her birthday. For her present I knew that I wanted to make her something for her room. My sister painted the walls gray, and her bedding is a purple damask with some black accents.   So I was on the hunt for a cute frame, of course when you're looking for one there is nothing out there!! Well after a few thrift store trips I found this one, lovely huh? :)

This is what I came up with. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I wasn't sure if I should do a wooden R or not. I was worried it would look too bulky if I did that. So then I thought..vinyl..duh! I ordered the R from Shelley.  First I spray painted the frame flat black , then sprayed a matte clear coat on it.  I mod podged the scrapbook paper on the cardboard that was in the frame, and applied the R.
I can't wait to give it to my sweet niece!! :)

Pedestal bowl take two..

Here is the first take on my "pedestal" bowl. After I painted our table the bowl sort of disappered on it. So I went through my spray paint and decided to paint it aqua.

Here is "take two", I'm not sure how much I like it :( To be honest I liked it black better!  I may be painting it yet once again!! What do you think?
