No sew burlap valance

Let me start by saying that this was a total on the spot quick project! It wasn't something that I had planned on doing, but once the summer sun was BLAZING through the bathroom window heating up the entire front part of my house I needed a quick fix! I went through my fabric stash and I had enough burlap for this small window, so that's what I went with :)
So here goes:

This is when the afternoon sun is coming through, HOT!

I started by measuring the window and allowing 2 extra inches on the sides, top
and bottom to place the stitch witchery for the "hem".  All you do is iron a crease
where the hem should be, place the stitch witchery in there and iron.  EASY PEASY!

Here is a close up. Once I hung it up it looked AWFUL with the sun coming through, so
I improvised with some canvas that I had. Of course I didn't have enough! lol.. Since there
was some space between the canvas & the hem I decided to make some fabric rosettes to fill
in some of the space. Although now that the shower curtain is up its not noticeable!

Close up of rosettes

After:  sigh..much better! Perfect? Not even close, but it works!
I probably will take it down this winter when its rainy & gray
for weeks. But I'm SO ready for that!! :)

And just because I always have distractions helpers!
