Moss ball project

Here is another one my thrift store candlestick finds. I picked it the same day that I picked up this one. Once I saw it I knew immediately what I was going to do! The best part was that I didn't have to do anything to the candlestick itself! It sort of has an "Urn-like" look to me so I knew that I wanted to place something on it. Then I remembered I saw over at Creations by Kara how she made a moss sphere ball.

Totally easy! Just crumple up newspaper until you get the size that you want. Then wrap masking tape all around it. Once the tape is applied it is easier to shape it and make it more round. I had a bag of moss from the Dollar Store. Then I used my glue gun, I squeezed out quite a bit and then just rolled it over the moss. I layed down a piece of newspaper where I sort of scattered the moss out.  Once most of the ball was covered I filled in any bare spots. This part is pretty messy!

Here it is on a shelf in my laundry room, pretty cute huh? And even cuter because it only cost me $.99! My hubbie said that it looks like a moldy ball..what-eva! :)

Pedestal "bowl"

I saw a similar bowl candlestick makeover on V&Co. and loved it! So the last time I was at the thrift store I saw this candlestick and I LOVED the look and shape of it. Imagine it the most hideous gold color (forgot to take a picture before my black spray paint ♥) The wire bowl was from the $1 aisle @ Target. I Gorilla super glued it together and Wa-lah!  Love it! :)
